Sintered Stone VS Quartz

Sintered Stone
Sintered stone is a relatively new countertop material that is gaining popularity among homeowners. It is made from a blend of natural minerals, such as quartz, porcelain, and glass, that are subjected to extreme heat and pressure.
This process is known as sintering. Sintering is commonly used in manufacturing to create solid materials from powdered substances. It involves heating the powder material below its melting point but high enough to cause bonding between the particles.

The result is a cohesive and densified product with improved strength and durability.
The sintering process also allows for the elimination of any porosity or voids within the material, enhancing its durability and resistance to stains, scratches, and heat. The high temperatures and pressure applied during sintering contribute to the densification and fusion of the particles, resulting in a solid and homogeneous stone-like material.

Quartz
Quartz is an engineered stone that is composed of natural quartz stone and resin. They are manufactured by combining around 90% ground quartz with 10% resins, polymers, and pigments. This composition gives quartz countertops their strength and durability. It is a highly durable material that is resistant to scratches, stains, and heat.
Care & Maintenance
Most of our surfaces require minimal maintenance, and no sealing required to retain the shine and brilliance. Cleaning is simple with Quartz. Everyday care just needs dishwashing liquid and water. For more stubborn marks, gently wipe your Quartz with some liquid Chemico and a non-scratch sponge! Although Quartz Caesarstone Granite & Stone in general is very durable, they do each need love to keep them looking new.
- Quartz being harder than natural stone and highly scratch resistant. However, refrain from using the ends of sharp objects, such as knives or screwdrivers, directly onto the surface.
- Structurally quartz is more heat resistant than other surfaces. However, like other stone tops, excessive heat may cause thermal shock and damage. The use of a trivet, or hot pad to place under your hot pots and pans recommended.
- Exposing Quartz to unduly strong chemicals could cause permanent damage. Avoid cleaning your Quartz countertops with products or chemicals that contain trichlorethane or methylene chloride, often found in paint removers. Rather avoid using aggressive cleaning products like oven cleaners and dishwasher cleaning agents. Products containing oils or powders may leave a residue. Should your countertops accidentally be exposed to any of these damaging products, rinse thoroughly with water to neutralize adverse effects.
